At the entrance to this holiday region you find the romantic little village of Tumpen. The mystic Engelswand rock face is towering high above the valley, right next to the hamlet of Farst known as Ötztal's "eyrie". Heading southwards you reach the basin of Umhausen, the main village of central Ötztal valley. The picturesque resorts of Niederthai and Köfels are lovingly embedded in the stunning Alpine scenery at 1,500m above sea level.
